About me

Hi! I'm Shelly - mother of 5 and wife to the best man in the world. We love to play games and watch movies together. I have a passion for crafting in all it's forms - sewing, scrapbooking, bow making, painting, mod podge, you name it and I'll try it. Hope you enjoy our family adventures and crafts!

How I Became Shared Jelly

When my husband and I first got married we used to get messages on our answering machine for "Shared" and "Jelly" instead of Jared and Shelly. The first time we chuckled a little over it and by the fourth or fifth time, we decided the name should stick somewhere. And so, I've been sharing jelly all over the internet since. Enjoy!

New Skirts!

I've had some new skirt ideas tucked away, waiting for one of my girls to need them.  They are all pretty easy and I'll even show you where you can find tutorials and patterns to make your own. (by the way, sorry the skirts are all so wrinkly - I had already washed them once and was too lazy to iron)

First is this tiered skirt.  Break out your calculator because you'll need to do some math for this one, but then piecing it together is pretty easy. You can find a tutorial on Crap I've Made.   (or countless other websites if you google it)

Second was the Starboard Skirt found on Simple Simon & Co.  Next time I'm totally doing a cute print like hers for me.  My daughter, however will not wear such cool colors, so I did hers in jean.
For the third skirt, I was inspired by Make It and Love It.  I wasn't brave enough to use the elastic thread and try shirring, though.  It's on my list of things to try, though.
I did a simple flat waistband and side zipper instead.  These are all great easy projects that take very minimal sewing ability.  Seriously, if you haven't tried sewing a skirt, these would be great patterns to start with.
