About me

Hi! I'm Shelly - mother of 5 and wife to the best man in the world. We love to play games and watch movies together. I have a passion for crafting in all it's forms - sewing, scrapbooking, bow making, painting, mod podge, you name it and I'll try it. Hope you enjoy our family adventures and crafts!

How I Became Shared Jelly

When my husband and I first got married we used to get messages on our answering machine for "Shared" and "Jelly" instead of Jared and Shelly. The first time we chuckled a little over it and by the fourth or fifth time, we decided the name should stick somewhere. And so, I've been sharing jelly all over the internet since. Enjoy!

I tried something a little different with the bobby pins.  I'm mixing it up and layering my different flowers for some new looks.  What do you think?
I especially like the green and orange.  What a fun splash of color to accessorize your outfit!

Black White and Red Headbands

I was having fun with circles and creating flowers and came up with these new headbands.  They are in my etsy shop if you want a closer look.

Updated Birdhouse

We had an exchange of household items at a church activity the other week.  You bring some stuff you don't want, I bring some stuff I don't want and we swap.  I picked up this beauty knowing I needed some more spring decor.
The colors weren't what I wanted and the style was not really my taste, but I knew it had potential (and it was free!)  Here's how it turned out after a little paint (several coats) and some cute paper (attached with mod podge).

Love it!

Braided Knit Tee

I made this tee similar to how you make a tiered skirt.  Then braided some knit material for the top.  Nice and cool for the upcoming hot weather.

Tee With Ruffly Heart

I used some rib knit material to make this cute purple shirt for my baby girl.  I even made my own bias tape for the neck line!  You can see a tutorial on how to make your own bias tape over at Made.  I also did a cut out embellishment with a cut out of a  heart in the middle.

The lighting was bad on my camera, so I'm sorry it's hard to see(if you click on the image, it may be a little easier).  I sewed the ruffles on a separate piece of material behind my shirt.  Then sewed around it in a heart shape and cut out the fabric so that the ruffles peek through. I hope that makes sense. There is a really good tutorial on Make It and Love It. Enjoy!

Girls Peasant Blouse

I found a super easy tutorial on making a girls peasant blouse here on Indietutes.  I wasn't too impressed with her fabric choice, but if she's like me, she probably just used whatever she had laying around the house.  Totally been there.  Anyways, here's my little girls peasant blouse. It was simple and doesn't require much fabric.  I'm tempted to try to make one for myself or maybe even convert it to a dress (hmmm), but I digress. Enjoy!
